The way I think of validation rules is that I am defining the "error condition". "If" this happens, throw the error message and DO NOT allow the record to be saved. When writing the "If" statement", use the same syntax as formula syntax, but don't put in the word "If" - the "If" is implied in a validation rule.

This is so helpful because these validation rules are absolutely counterintuitive,
In the cert prep webinar, they talked about using manual sharing when you have non-standard sharing requirements (there aren't any rules that sharing can be standardized around and each record is unique). How do we do this in lightning?

I used the FocusOnForce tests and Mike Whee'er's Udemy prep course. They were both very helpful, particularly the FocusOnForce tests for understanding how the questions are worded.
