Hi all,
I'm looking for current guidance on how a candidate under 18 can sit a
Salesforce certification exam, and I can't find anything authoritative
published since certifications moved to Trailhead Academy and Pearson VUE
in July 2025.
What I've done so far:
- Searched the community, Salesforce Stack Exchange and the Help
documentation. Everything I can find on this either predates the
Trailhead Academy transition, or describes the Webassessor process,
which no longer applies.
- Found anecdotal reports of minors holding certifications, but nothing
that explains the actual procedure, and nothing recent.
- Contacted Pearson VUE directly about the exam delivery side:
identification requirements, whether a parent or guardian needs to be
present at the test centre, and whether the policy differs between a
test centre and an online-proctored exam. Awaiting their reply.
What I still can't resolve is the Salesforce side rather than the
delivery side. Registering involves accepting the Salesforce
Certification Program Agreement, which is a contract. A minor doesn't
have full contractual capacity, so I'd expect this to require a parent or
legal guardian to sign or countersign — but I can't find any documented
process for that, or any indication of where such a signature would be
submitted.
So, two questions:
1. Has anyone here gone through certification as a minor, or supported
someone who did, since the move to Trailhead Academy? How was the
program agreement handled?
2. Is there official guidance on this that I've missed? If it exists,
I'd appreciate a pointer.
For context: I'm 17, based in Italy, preparing for the Salesforce
Certified Platform Administrator exam and aiming to sit it in November.
I'd rather establish the correct procedure now than discover a problem
on exam day, or worse, have a credential questioned later.
If there genuinely isn't published guidance on this, that seems worth
documenting — I'm happy to write up whatever answer I get so the next
person searching finds something current.
Thanks,
Aurelio

I checked the documentation, but I couldn’t find any reliable information specifically for minors. There is no explicit minimum age published in the latest guidance.
For support from Salesforce Trailhead, you can open a case through Trailhead Help and provide details about the your age, location, and available ID. Please use this link to create a case - https://help.salesforce.com/s/cases
